Six-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Abducted, Sexually Assaulted and Murdered in Karachi; Neighbour Arrested

Karachi: A six-year-old boy who was abducted from outside his home in Karachi was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered, with his body later thrown from the third floor of a residential building in a shocking case that has sparked outrage across the city.

According to police, the victim, identified as Muhammad Wali, went missing two days earlier after leaving his home in Punjabi Gali, Lea Market, to buy an item from a nearby shop. His father, Abid Hussain, a rickshaw driver, later registered a kidnapping case at Napier Police Station after an extensive search by the family and local residents failed to locate the child.

Two days later, residents gathered near the victim’s home heard a heavy object fall into a vacant plot. They discovered a sack that had allegedly been thrown from the third floor of a nearby building. When it was opened, the mutilated body of Muhammad Wali was found inside.

Residents immediately informed police and apprehended a neighbour identified as Hamza, who was allegedly present in the building. The suspect was reportedly beaten by an angry crowd before being handed over to police.

DIG South Asad Raza said preliminary investigations revealed that the child had been sexually assaulted before being murdered. The suspect, who lived next door to the victim’s family, has been formally nominated in the case and legal proceedings have begun.

Police also said the suspect allegedly tried to mislead investigators by participating in the search for the missing child while refusing to allow anyone into his house. Family members and residents claimed bloodstains were later found inside a locked room in the suspect’s residence. According to locals, the suspect had falsely claimed that the room’s key was with a relative who had travelled to Punjab.

Authorities are also searching for two other individuals who were reportedly living in the same house and are currently missing.

The victim’s mother said her son’s body had been stuffed into a sack before being thrown from the building. She demanded the harshest possible punishment for those responsible. The boy’s father, overcome with grief, said Muhammad Wali was his only son after four daughters and the youngest among five siblings.

The victim’s sister tearfully questioned why her younger brother had been killed, saying he had harmed no one.

According to a local political representative present outside the Civil Hospital morgue, the suspect allegedly claimed during his arrest that the crime was motivated by a personal dispute between his father and the victim’s father. Police have not officially confirmed this as the motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.
