Cargo Plane From Sharjah to Karachi Disappears From Radar Over Arabian Gulf

Islamabad: A cargo aircraft operated by K2 Airways reportedly disappeared from radar while en route from Sharjah to Karachi after experiencing a navigation issue, according to initial reports.

The cargo flight, identified as KTA 1732, was traveling to Karachi when it reportedly vanished from radar approximately 155 nautical miles west of Karachi, over the Arabian Gulf, roughly 300 kilometers from the city.

According to reports, the flight crew informed air traffic control (ATC) of a navigation problem during the flight and requested a heading. ATC instructed the aircraft to maintain its current course.

Initial information indicates that the aircraft suddenly turned to the right before rapidly losing altitude at a reported descent rate of approximately 15,000 feet per minute. Despite repeated attempts by air traffic controllers to establish communication, no response was received from the aircraft.

Sources identified the aircraft as a Boeing 737-400 freighter (B734) registered as AP-BOI and operated by K2 Airways.

Authorities have launched efforts to determine the aircraft’s whereabouts, while an official investigation into the incident is expected. The status of the aircraft and its crew has not yet been officially confirmed.
