Karachi: Fugitive Wanted in Over 100 Robberies Escapes Police Custody

A criminal, wanted in over 100 robbery cases, has managed to escape from police custody in Karachi. According to police reports, the suspect was arrested in Punjab and transferred to Karachi. During the transfer from the Ghulshan-e-Iqbal police station, the suspect managed to deceive the police team and flee.
The police stated that the suspect had been apprehended by the South Zone Police, with assistance from Punjab Police. The latest case involving the fugitive was registered on January 3 at the Boat Basin Police Station.
Authorities revealed that the suspect had stolen jewelry worth between 1.5 to 2 crore rupees in his various robberies. Additionally, the fugitive is facing similar theft and robbery charges in Punjab.
In response to the incident, the SP Investigation has suspended the investigating officer (IO) of the Ghulshan-e-Iqbal police station, Shafqat Mangi, for his negligence. The inquiry into the matter has been assigned to the DSP Investigation Clifton.
