Punjab Launches Climate Leadership Internship Program with Rs60,000 Monthly Stipend

Lahore: The Government of Punjab has launched the second phase of the Chief Minister’s Climate Leadership Internship Program, offering selected candidates a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 for a period of three months.

According to the Punjab Environment Protection and Climate Change Department, online applications for the program are now open. The initiative aims to equip young people with practical experience in environmental protection, climate change mitigation strategies, and environmental policymaking, preparing them to become future “climate champions.”

The department said that 50 percent of the internship seats have been reserved for female candidates to promote gender equality and strengthen women’s participation in the environmental sector.

During the internship, participants will receive field-based learning opportunities, work on projects undertaken by the Environment Department, visit offices of the Environmental Protection Agency Punjab, complete capstone projects, and receive hands-on training under the supervision of environmental experts.

To be eligible, applicants must be 20 to 27 years old and hold at least a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75 percent marks or a CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. Graduates from a wide range of academic disciplines are eligible to apply.

The Punjab Environment Protection and Climate Change Department said interested candidates can submit their online applications through the official EPA Punjab portal until July 18, 2026.
