Weather Forecast Issued for Eid-ul-Adha as Heat Expected to Increase After Brief Rain Spell

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued its weather outlook for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha period, predicting a mix of rain and rising temperatures across different regions of the country.
According to Director Meteorology Irfan Waraich, a current weather system is bringing rainfall to upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 24 to 48 hours. He said that Lahore and surrounding areas are expected to experience relatively pleasant weather for the next two days, after which heat conditions are likely to return.
He further stated that parts of upper and northeastern Punjab may also receive rainfall during this period, providing temporary relief from the prevailing heatwave conditions.
Regarding Karachi, the meteorological official said that while extreme heat seen earlier in May is not currently present, temperatures will remain on the higher side, with comparatively stable weather expected over the next two days.
For Eid-ul-Adha, the forecast suggests that temperatures are likely to rise gradually once the current spell of rain subsides. However, officials noted that another weather system may approach before Eid, though it is still too early to make a final prediction.
The Met Office also highlighted that if the El Niño phenomenon becomes active in the Pacific region, rainfall during the monsoon season in South Asia could be slightly below normal.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay updated with official weather forecasts as conditions may continue to change in the coming days.
