Judicial Commission to Consider 20 Candidates for Additional Judges of Balochistan High Court

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has scheduled a meeting on **July 21, 2026**, to consider the appointment of additional judges to the **Balochistan High Court**.

According to an official notification issued by the Judicial Commission Secretariat, the meeting will be held at **3:00 p.m.** at the **Supreme Court of Pakistan** in Islamabad. The commission will review the names of **20 candidates**, including district and sessions judges, senior advocates of the Supreme Court, and a senior High Court advocate.

The district and sessions judges under consideration include **Pazeer Ahmed Baloch, Saadatullah Khan Bazai, Abdul Qayyum Lehri, Inayatullah Khan,** and **Allah Dad Roshan**.

The list of senior Supreme Court advocates includes **Muhammad Saleem Lashari, Nisar Ahmed Alizai, Zahoor Ahmed, Nadir Ali Chilghari, Bairam Khan, Mir Ataullah Lango, M. Zakria Khan Nasir, Naseer Ahmed, Rehmatullah, Muhammad Akram Shah, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Raf Atta, Barrister Ameer Muhammad Lehri,** and **Mulla Isa Dashti**. **Syed Zahoor Ahmed**, a senior High Court advocate, is also among the candidates.

The Secretariat has provided Judicial Commission members with the candidates’ curricula vitae, professional records, and supporting documents for evaluation. Members have been asked to submit any objections or recommendations regarding the nominees in writing within two days of receiving the documents.

Legal experts believe that appointing additional judges to the Balochistan High Court would help reduce the backlog of pending cases, speed up court proceedings, and improve the timely delivery of justice. Following its review, the Judicial Commission will make recommendations based on the candidates’ legal competence, integrity, professional reputation, and constitutional eligibility before the appointments proceed through the remaining constitutional process.
