Government Using Force Instead of Addressing Basic Needs, Says Balochistan National Party

**Quetta:** The Balochistan National Party (BNP) has strongly criticized the provincial government, accusing it of using force and coercion instead of addressing the basic needs of the people, including food, clothing, and shelter.
In a central statement, the BNP said that no attempt to push employees against the wall would be allowed to succeed and demanded that the government accept employees’ legitimate demands instead of offering empty assurances. The party alleged that the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government, which once claimed to champion the slogan of “Roti, Kapra aur Makan,” is now attempting to control the situation in Balochistan through batons and bullets.
The statement further said that under the current “Form 47” government, people from all walks of life are being given false promises merely to complete the government’s term, while there is no serious concern for resolving public issues or addressing the grievances of the people of Balochistan. The BNP claimed that the rulers have been imposed through political engineering and are focused only on fulfilling a predetermined agenda.
The party warned that the people of Balochistan are being pushed into a dead end, noting that hundreds of individuals have gone missing during the current year and that bodies have also been recovered. Citing a recent report by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), the BNP said the report clearly highlights severe human rights violations in the province.
Condemning what it described as anti-employee government policies, the BNP reiterated that it has always represented the rights of employees and the middle class. The statement said party leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has consistently prioritized the struggle for the rights of the people of Balochistan, adding that the provision of employee allowances in the past was also the result of BNP-led governments.
The BNP concluded by affirming that it stands shoulder to shoulder with employees in their struggle for rights and will not abandon them under any circumstances.
