Viral Video Misleading: PAF Jets Did Not Escort Iranian Delegation

Islamabad: A video circulating on social media claiming that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets escorted an Iranian delegation has been found to be misleading and unrelated to any recent event.
According to fact-checks and available evidence, the footage is not recent and has no connection with any Iranian visit. Instead, it dates back to February 2019 during the official visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Pakistan.

At that time, PAF’s JF-17 Thunder and F-16 fighter jets provided a ceremonial escort to the aircraft of the visiting dignitary as part of standard state protocol. The visuals now being shared online are from that occasion.
Authorities and analysts have clarified that the viral claims are false and urged the public to verify information before sharing, as the spread of such misleading content can create confusion and misinformation.
