ANP Balochistan Backs Hanna Urak Protest Committee, Alleges Coordinated Effort to Displace Local Residents

Quetta: The **Awami National Party> (ANP) Balochistan chapter has strongly condemned the recent armed attack in the Hanna Urak, Killi Babri, and surrounding areas, expressing full support for the demands of the protest committee formed after the incident.

In a statement, the party described the recent violence near the tourist valley of Hanna, on the outskirts of Quetta, as deeply alarming. It claimed that the attacks reflected a coordinated campaign aimed at creating instability in the area.

The ANP further alleged that those behind the attacks were seeking to force local communities from their ancestral lands. The party argued that the incidents were part of a broader pattern rather than isolated events.

Drawing a comparison with past counterterrorism operations in Waziristan, the party claimed that similar tactics were now being employed in areas including Mangla Shaban and Hanna Urak, resulting in fear among local residents. It also questioned the reported movement of armed groups from outside the area.

The party called on the federal and provincial governments, as well as state institutions, to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities by ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives, property, and dignity. It demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the recent attacks and urged the authorities to take effective measures to restore peace and security in Hanna Urak and across Balochistan.

The ANP warned that continued failure to protect citizens could further undermine public confidence in state institutions.
