Hazara Democratic Party Condemns Armed Attack in Hanna Urak, Criticizes Balochistan Government Over Security

Quetta: The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has strongly condemned the armed attack in the Hanna Urak area of Quetta and accused the Balochistan provincial government of failing to maintain law and order across the province.

In a statement, the party described the security situation in Balochistan as evidence of what it called the provincial government’s complete failure, alleging that the state’s authority was absent in many parts of the province while security measures were primarily focused on protecting government officials.

The HDP claimed that highways and several districts of Balochistan have witnessed worsening law and order, leaving citizens feeling unsafe. It further alleged that armed groups have been threatening residents in different areas and ordering them to vacate their localities.

Referring to the attack in the Hanna Urak area, the party condemned the assault on the villages of Killi Babri, Killi Sarangzai, and Killi Shamozai, describing it as a tragic and unacceptable act. According to the statement, local residents resisted the attackers, after which the armed assailants allegedly opened fire, resulting in multiple fatalities and the reported abduction of several local residents.

The party said that protecting the lives and property of citizens is the primary responsibility of the government and state institutions. It expressed solidarity with the affected tribal communities of Hanna Urak and called on the authorities to accept their demands and take immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of local residents.
