10 Killed, 17 Injured in Separate Shootings, Armed Attacks, and Road Accident Across Balochistan

QUETTA: At least 10 people were killed and 17 others injured in separate incidents of shootings, armed attacks, violent clashes, and a road accident across various districts of Balochistan, while police and other authorities launched investigations into the incidents.
In the Hanna Urak area of Quetta, local resident Naqeebullah was killed and at least five others were injured after unidentified armed men opened fire, according to local sources. Residents said the attack triggered several hours of tension and clashes, forcing locals to defend their neighborhoods. The condition of the injured has not been officially disclosed.
Reacting to the incident, Manzoor Kakar claimed that the attack had been carried out by the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and criticized the government’s response, calling for the immediate deployment of security forces, medical assistance for the injured, and action against those responsible. Authorities had not officially confirmed the identity of the attackers at the time of reporting.
In Qila Abdullah District, unidentified gunmen opened fire in the Badwan area early Sunday morning, killing four people—identified by police as Ubaidullah, Zia-ur-Rehman, Aimal, and Muhammad Shahid—while a young girl, Bibi Saniya, was injured. The child was shifted to Quetta for further treatment. Relatives later staged a protest on the Quetta-Chaman Highway before reopening the road following negotiations with the administration.
In Dera Bugti District, four people were killed and one injured during an exchange of fire between two groups over a financial dispute. Police said the victims included a father and son from one side and two brothers from the other. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
In Balida, unidentified assailants shot dead a man identified as Sohail Ibrahim before fleeing the scene. Police handed the body over to the family after completing legal formalities and began searching for the suspects.
In the Sherani area near Dera Murad Jamali, four people, including tribal elder Moj Ali, were injured in a gun battle between two groups over a land dispute. Police said the injured were shifted to the Teaching Hospital in Dera Murad Jamali, and the situation was later brought under control.
In Duki District, unidentified individuals damaged a contractor’s motor grader with explosive material on the under-construction Duki–Chamalang Road. The driver escaped unharmed, and police have opened an investigation.
A road accident on the national highway near Damboli in Kachhi District left six passengers, including a woman, injured after a passenger van traveling from Jacobabad to Quetta veered off the road and plunged into a ravine. The injured were taken to Bakhtiarabad Civil Hospital before being referred to Sibi, while police detained the driver for questioning.
In Pishin District, police rescued an abducted child during an operation in the Simli area. The kidnappers reportedly fled before police arrived. The child was safely reunited with his father after legal formalities, and raids are continuing to arrest the suspects.
Separately, in Khuzdar, police arrested a man identified as Saeed alias Champa on charges of drug trafficking and recovered hashish from his possession. In another operation, police also arrested several youths accused of mistreating a mentally disabled young man in a video that had circulated on social media. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
