Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Condemns Hanna Urak Attack, Alleges Security Failure After Civilian Killed

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) has strongly condemned the reported armed attack in the Hanna Urak area of Quetta, claiming that one civilian, identified as Naqeebullah, was killed and several others were injured after armed attackers allegedly besieged the area for several hours.
In a statement issued by its provincial secretariat, the party said the attack began at around 4 p.m. in Killi Beri, where armed militants reportedly surrounded the locality, creating fear among residents. It alleged that locals were forced to defend themselves due to what it described as a delayed response by government authorities and security institutions.
PNAP expressed condolences to the family of Naqeebullah, prayed for the deceased, and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
The party claimed that its representatives immediately informed senior government officials, the civil administration, and relevant security agencies after the attack began and repeatedly urged them to take prompt action. However, it alleged that despite receiving continuous reports, authorities failed to respond effectively for several hours, leaving residents to protect their lives, families, and property on their own.
According to the statement, the incident reflects what the party described as a serious failure by the provincial government, civil administration, and security institutions to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens.
PNAP further argued that the continued occurrence of militant attacks and violence in Balochistan demonstrates shortcomings in maintaining public security. It called for an immediate, transparent, and impartial investigation into the Hanna Urak incident, the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Naqeebullah’s killing and any alleged facilitators, accountability for officials accused of negligence or delayed action, proper medical treatment for the injured, and lasting security measures to protect residents of the affected area.
The party said it would continue its political campaign for public safety, peace, justice, and the rule of law, while criticizing what it described as the government’s ineffective security policies.
The allegations made by PNAP regarding the conduct of government authorities, security agencies, and the circumstances of the attack have not been independently verified. Officials had not issued a detailed public response to these claims at the time of reporting.
