Quetta Launches Grand Crackdown on Unregistered Vehicles and Motorcycles to Improve Security and Traffic

Quetta: Traffic police in Quetta have launched a large-scale crackdown against unregistered motorcycles and vehicles as part of efforts to strengthen law enforcement, improve road safety, and enhance the city’s overall security situation.

According to officials, special checkpoints have been established across major roads, entry and exit points, commercial areas, and other key locations in the provincial capital. Vehicles operating without registration or with incomplete legal documentation are being stopped and inspected.

Traffic police said the campaign aims to promote compliance with traffic laws, discourage the use of unregistered vehicles, prevent crime, and create a more organized traffic system. Officials noted that unregistered vehicles and motorcycles with fake number plates have frequently been used in criminal activities, making stricter enforcement necessary.

During the operation, authorities are checking whether drivers possess valid registration books, genuine number plates, token tax records, transfer documents, and other required legal paperwork. Those found violating the law are being fined on the spot, while in some cases vehicles and motorcycles are being impounded and shifted to police stations or designated government parking facilities.

Police added that the campaign also targets vehicles displaying fake or non-standard number plates, drivers operating without valid driving licences, underage drivers, and other traffic violations.

Special inspection teams have been deployed across the city to verify vehicle registrations and legal documents, with authorities saying the operation will continue in phases throughout Quetta.

Officials said inspections will be further intensified around sensitive locations, educational institutions, markets, major roads, and city entry points to curb the movement of unregistered vehicles.

Traffic police have urged citizens to complete the registration of their vehicles and motorcycles, use official number plates, carry valid driving licences, and keep all required legal documents with them to avoid penalties and legal action.

Authorities emphasized that violations of traffic laws will not be tolerated and said similar enforcement campaigns will continue regularly to establish a safer, more organized, and efficient traffic system in Quetta.
