Former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Resigns from Pakistan Peoples Party

Islamabad: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, has resigned from the basic membership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), according to sources.
Sources said that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas sent his resignation to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, reportedly expressing dissatisfaction over what he described as the unfair distribution of party tickets for the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir.
According to the sources, Ilyas was denied the party ticket for the Central Bagh constituency, despite having sought nomination from the area. He had previously conveyed his reservations to the party leadership over the allocation of tickets.
Sources further said that the former AJK premier is consulting with his close political associates and is expected to hold a press conference soon to announce his future political strategy.
The Pakistan Peoples Party has not yet issued an official response to the reported resignation.
