PTI Leaders Say No Progress in Talks as Imran Khan Meeting Denied Again

Rawalpindi:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman **Barrister Gohar Ali Khan** has claimed that party leaders were once again denied permission to meet the party’s founder, **Imran Khan**, at Adiala Jail despite it being a scheduled meeting day.
Speaking to the media outside the prison, Barrister Gohar said it has been **36 weeks** since party leaders were able to meet Imran Khan, describing the situation as a matter of growing concern.
He said meetings with the former prime minister are necessary to understand his current position on political matters, adding that the family has also requested that Imran Khan’s three sisters be allowed to meet him.
Referring to the government’s offer of dialogue, Barrister Gohar said Prime Minister **Shehbaz Sharif** had invited negotiations on the floor of the National Assembly, but no meaningful progress had been made. He added that the government was simultaneously pursuing legal action against PTI members while speaking about negotiations.
Meanwhile, PTI Secretary General **Salman Akram Raja** said the party’s internal uncertainty stems from the lack of access to Imran Khan. He said the leadership wants to receive direct instructions from the PTI founder, adding that the continued denial of meetings has placed the party leadership under pressure.
There was no immediate response from the government or prison authorities to the PTI leaders’ statements.
