Tight Security Measures in Place for Annual Kaaba Washing Ceremony

MAKKAH: Saudi security authorities have implemented extensive security arrangements at the Grand Mosque for the annual washing ceremony of the Holy Kaaba, ensuring the safety of dignitaries and worshippers attending the event.
Special security units have been deployed throughout Masjid al-Haram, particularly around the Kaaba and the Mataf area, to maintain order during the ceremonial washing.
The heightened security measures coincide with the arrival of senior officials, including the Governor of Makkah and other distinguished guests, for the annual religious event. A protective security cordon has been established around the Kaaba to facilitate the ceremony while ensuring public safety.
Saudi authorities are also using advanced surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and high-alert security monitoring, to oversee the proceedings without disrupting the flow of pilgrims performing Tawaf.
The annual washing of the Holy Kaaba is a longstanding Islamic tradition carried out in a solemn and well-organized manner under the supervision of Saudi authorities. The ceremony involves cleaning the interior of the Kaaba with scented water and perfume and is attended by selected officials and invited guests.
