Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Demands Recovery of Missing Pishin Youth, Warns of Protests

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has expressed grave concern over the alleged disappearance of a young laborer from Pishin district and called on the Balochistan government and law enforcement agencies to ensure his immediate recovery.
In a press statement issued from the party’s provincial secretariat, PkNAP said Wali Rehman, son of Kabir Lala and a resident of the Zarghoon and Khushab areas of Pishin district, has been missing for the past five days.
The party described Wali Rehman as a hardworking and modest young man who had been employed as a security guard in the Mangla area near Quetta to support his family.
According to the statement, his disappearance has caused severe distress to his family and raised concerns among local residents. The party questioned the performance of the provincial government and relevant institutions, saying the failure to trace him after several days casts doubt on official claims regarding public safety and law and order.
PkNAP also expressed concern over what it described as a deteriorating security situation in Balochistan, particularly in Pashtun-majority areas, citing incidents of kidnappings, unexplained disappearances, and other crimes.
The party urged the Balochistan government, the Inspector General of Police, and other relevant authorities to ensure Wali Rehman’s safe and dignified recovery, conduct a transparent and impartial investigation, and keep his family informed of any progress.
Warning of possible demonstrations, the party said that if immediate and effective measures are not taken to recover the missing youth, it reserves the right to launch protests and other constitutional and democratic actions in Zarghoon, Khushab, Pishin, Quetta, and other areas.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the party’s commitment to opposing injustice and human rights violations through democratic means and vowed to continue supporting Wali Rehman’s family until he is safely recovered. It also called for a transparent investigation and legal action against anyone found responsible, if any wrongdoing is established.
