15 Injured After Fire Breaks Out at Oil Refinery in India’s West Bengal

West Bengal:** At least 15 people were injured after a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Haldia, a city in India’s eastern state of West Bengal, on Tuesday morning.

According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. at **Haldia Petrochemicals Limited**, when a pipeline suddenly caught fire. The blaze spread rapidly, leaving several people at the site with burn injuries.

All of the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, with officials saying that some victims remain in critical condition.

Refinery management said the fire was likely caused by an attempt to steal oil from the pipeline, although the exact cause has not yet been confirmed. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities are continuing emergency response and safety operations at the refinery while investigators assess the extent of the damage.
