Balochistan Government Orders Immediate Action Over Alleged Assault on Woman in Quetta

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has taken immediate notice of the alleged assault on a local woman, Shahida Mukhtar, in Quetta and has ordered prompt legal action against the suspect.
According to Shahid Rind, Adviser to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on Political and Media Affairs, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed his Personal Staff Officer, Syed Ameen, to immediately contact police authorities following reports of the incident.
Rind said an FIR has been registered against the accused, and legal proceedings have formally begun.
He added that the Chief Minister has instructed the relevant authorities to ensure a transparent, impartial, and merit-based investigation into the case.
“The Balochistan government has a zero-tolerance policy toward violence, harassment, and abuse against women. The law will take its course without discrimination,” Rind said.
He further stated that the provincial government is committed to ensuring timely justice for the victim and that those found responsible will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
