Kidnapped Turkish National Rescued After Chagai Mining Site Attack, Police Say

Quetta: A Turkish national who was kidnapped during a deadly attack on a mining site in Balochistan’s Chagai district on April 22 has been successfully recovered, according to police officials.

Police said that the abducted Turkish citizen, Salih Gilcal, was released by his captors in the Mastung area, where authorities took him into custody and transported him to Quetta.

Officials stated that after completing the necessary legal formalities in Quetta, the Turkish national was safely repatriated to Turkey.

Salih Gilcal was working as a drill operator at the mining site when he was abducted during the April 22 attack. The incident resulted in the deaths of 10 people, including another Turkish citizen, according to authorities.

Following the attack, security forces and law enforcement agencies expanded their investigation into the incident. Officials said inquiries remain ongoing and efforts continue to identify and take action against those responsible for the attack and kidnapping.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the circumstances of the rescue or the individuals involved in the abduction.
