PTA Warns of Temporary Service Disruptions During Network Upgrade

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a major network infrastructure upgrade aimed at enhancing the performance, reliability, and security of its digital services.

According to PTA officials, the upgrade may temporarily affect the Mobile Device Registration System (DIRBS), resulting in intermittent service disruptions or temporary unavailability for users.

The authority stated that the upgrade process began at 5:00 p.m. on June 24 and will continue until 6:00 a.m. on June 25. During this period, users may experience interruptions while accessing online mobile device registration services.

PTA said the initiative is intended to modernize its network infrastructure, strengthen the security of digital services, and provide users with more stable and efficient telecommunications services in the future.

The authority added that technical teams are continuously monitoring the upgrade process to minimize inconvenience and ensure that all services are fully restored as quickly as possible.

PTA has requested cooperation from stakeholders, business partners, and consumers, emphasizing that the maintenance and upgrade activities are essential for delivering more effective, secure, and reliable telecommunications services across the country.
