Two Killed, One Injured in Armed Attack in Jhal Magsi
JHAL MAGSI: Two people were killed and another injured after unidentified armed men opened fire in the Goth Dar Mithazi area of Jhal Magsi district, police officials said.
According to police sources, unknown assailants suddenly opened indiscriminate fire, leaving Gada Hussain and Ali Hassan critically wounded. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while Mir Hassan sustained gunshot wounds.
Following the incident, local residents rushed the injured man to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police and other law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the attack. The area was cordoned off while officials collected evidence and launched an investigation into the incident.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a hospital to complete legal formalities and post-mortem procedures before being handed over to their families.
Police officials said preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting may have stemmed from an old enmity; however, all aspects of the case are being examined, and a final conclusion will be reached after a thorough investigation.
Authorities have initiated raids at various locations and are gathering intelligence to identify and apprehend those involved in the attack.
Sources said the incident created tension in the area, prompting authorities to deploy additional security personnel to prevent any further unrest. Local elders and community leaders have also appealed to all parties to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
