Punjab Assembly Speaker Takes Strong Notice of Derogatory Remarks Against Momina Iqbal

Islamabad (News Desk) — Momina Iqbal has come under the spotlight after objectionable remarks made against her on the floor of the Punjab Assembly sparked strong condemnation from the Speaker.

During a recent assembly session, MPA Nadeem Qureshi reportedly made comments referencing Momina Iqbal in the context of a political discussion. The remarks were immediately objected to inside the House.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan intervened promptly, terming the comments derogatory, discriminatory, and inappropriate for parliamentary proceedings. He directed the member to withdraw the remarks.

The Speaker stated that Momina Iqbal is a respected figure in the entertainment industry and that such personal comments made on the assembly floor were unacceptable and against parliamentary decorum.

He further ordered that the controversial remarks be removed from the official assembly record, emphasizing that no individual should be personally targeted during legislative debates.

The Speaker’s decision was widely noted as a firm stance against personal and biased remarks in the legislative forum.
