KP Government Issues New Guidelines on Quota-Based Jobs for Children of Retired and Deceased Employees

Peshawar (News Desk): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued new directives regarding quota-based employment for the children of retired and deceased government employees.
According to reports, the provincial government has circulated an official notification to all departments for the implementation of judgments issued by the Supreme Court and the Federal Constitutional Court.
The notification states that children of government employees who retire or pass away after September 26, 2024, will no longer be eligible for appointments under the quota system.
However, departments have been instructed to process and decide all pending quota cases that originated before September 26, 2024, in accordance with the law. The government emphasized that each pending case should be evaluated individually based on its facts, legal status, and relevant court rulings.
The provincial administration has also directed all departments to assess each case on its own merit while ensuring compliance with judicial decisions.
Furthermore, the Human Resource Department of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has instructed all administrative departments and district administrations to implement the new guidelines. It added that any disputed or doubtful cases related to the quota for children of deceased employees should be referred to the Law Department for legal review and guidance.
