Killa Abdullah Ignored in Dam Construction, Severe Drought Threat Looms: Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai

Killa Abdullah (News Desk): Awami National Party (ANP) district leader Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai has said that Balochistan, particularly Killa Abdullah, has once again been ignored in terms of dam construction projects.
While speaking to the media at the Balochistan Assembly, he stated that no new dam has been approved for Killa Abdullah in the current budget and Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), despite the district already facing severe drought conditions.
He warned that if timely measures are not taken, the situation of water shortage and drought in the coming days could become even more serious.
Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai emphasized that drought-affected areas like Killa Abdullah urgently require dam projects. He urged the government to include dam schemes in the current PSDP so that rainwater and floodwater can be properly stored.
He further added that the construction of dams would not only improve the groundwater level but also provide long-term benefits to agriculture, horticulture, and the local population.
