‘Do Not Insult Our Martyrs; Their Sacrifices Cannot Be Measured in Money,’ Says Allama Tahir Ashrafi

Karachi: Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, became emotional during a press conference alongside Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah as he spoke about the families of Pakistan’s martyrs and apologized on behalf of the nation for any disrespect shown toward them.

Addressing the media with tears in his eyes, Allama Ashrafi said, “I apologize to our soldiers, to the mothers of our martyrs, and to their innocent children who were compelled to come forward on social media and plead that their loved ones should not be dishonored. These sons of the nation and their sacrifices cannot be measured in money or material wealth.”

He added that he prays for martyrdom in every prayer and emphasized that the nation sleeps peacefully in its homes because soldiers sacrifice their lives while guarding the country’s borders.

“We take pride in our armed forces because they consist of our own brothers and sons. As long as we are alive, we will never allow anyone to insult our sacred martyrs,” he said, adding that Islamic teachings highly honor those who defend the borders of an Islamic state.

Allama Ashrafi urged politicians and political groups to refrain from exploiting the sacrifices of soldiers for political gain. “You are free to pursue your politics, but stop insulting those who lay down their lives for the country,” he remarked.

He further stated that Pakistan is increasingly being recognized internationally as a “Land of Peace,” attributing this achievement to the sacrifices made by the country’s security personnel.

Speaking on the internal and external challenges facing Pakistan, Allama Ashrafi said that the nation has now recognized the threats posed by extremist and hostile elements. He appealed to the public not to fall victim to anti-state propaganda and to support the country’s laws and security institutions in safeguarding national security.
