Balochistan Grand Alliance Announces Office Closure, Wheel-Jam Strike from June 18 and Hunger Sit-in from June 19

Quetta (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Daily) — The All Government Employees Grand Alliance Balochistan has announced a strict protest plan, including the closure of government offices, a wheel-jam strike, and a hunger sit-in, in response to alleged police violence and arrests during recent demonstrations.

Speaking at a press conference, Grand Alliance leaders Abdul Quddus Kakar and Younus Kakar condemned the alleged use of force against peaceful protesters and the arrests of government employees. They announced a phased escalation of their protest movement.

According to the leadership, from June 18, all government offices, educational institutions, and other public sector departments across Balochistan will remain completely shut for an indefinite period. A province-wide wheel-jam and lockdown-style protest will also be observed.

They further stated that daily protests, rallies, and public gatherings will be held in different districts of the province to press for the restoration of employees’ rights and to oppose what they described as government high-handedness.

In a further escalation, the Grand Alliance announced that from June 19, an indefinite hunger sit-in (death fast protest) will be staged in Quetta until their demands are accepted.

The leaders said that the protest movement will continue to expand until the demands of government employees are formally accepted and action is taken against those responsible for alleged violence and unlawful arrests.
