Ex-CM Aslam Khan Raisani Urges Government to Reconsider Restrictions on Night-time Transport for Agricultural Sector

The President of the Chamber of Agriculture Balochistan and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Mohammad Aslam Khan Raisani, has expressed serious concerns over the government’s decision to restrict movement on several key routes between 5 PM to 6 AM. He emphasized that this restriction is causing severe difficulties for farmers, agricultural workers, and businesses involved in the fruit and vegetable trade.
In a statement, Nawab Raisani highlighted that the closure of routes such as from Kolpur to Dera Allah Yar, Loralai to Dera Ghazi Khan, and Lakpass to Karachi is negatively impacting the transportation of fresh produce. He pointed out that farmers and laborers are facing considerable financial losses as their goods are either delayed or spoiled during transport due to the restrictions. “Not only is their produce failing to reach other cities in a timely manner, but it is also getting spoiled en route,” he remarked.
Raisani has urged the government to reconsider its decision, stressing that the transport of fresh fruits and vegetables should not be hindered. He called on authorities to ensure unhindered access to markets across the country for these perishable goods, which are vital for the livelihood of many in the province. He further demanded that there be no barriers to the transportation of essential agricultural products, ensuring their timely delivery to various markets.
The former CM’s statement serves as a strong plea to the government to reassess the impact of such policies on the agricultural community and to facilitate the smooth movement of produce, especially in the case of fresh fruits and vegetables.
