PM Shehbaz Sharif Announces US-Iran Peace Agreement After Lengthy Negotiations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the United States and Iran have reached a peace agreement following extensive and significant negotiations aimed at resolving regional tensions.

In a message shared on social media, the prime minister said that the formal signing ceremony of the peace agreement will take place on June 19 in Switzerland.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the roles played by Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in facilitating the agreement. He stated that both parties had agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations across all fronts.

According to the prime minister, the agreement includes a commitment to halt military activities in all conflict areas, including Lebanon.

He further revealed that countries involved in mediation efforts will hold a series of meetings later this week. These discussions will focus on technical and implementation-related matters ahead of the formal execution of the agreement.

The prime minister also thanked both the United States and Iran for pursuing a diplomatic solution to the dispute, describing the agreement as an important step toward regional peace, stability and dialogue.
