Islamabad High Court Grants Interim Protection from Arrest to PTI Leader Semaibya Tahir in PECA Case

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has granted interim relief to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Semaibya Tahir, restraining authorities from arresting her in a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

The hearing was conducted by Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, who reviewed Semaibya Tahir’s pre-arrest bail application. The PTI leader appeared before the court along with her legal team.

During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel argued that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a case under the PECA law and there was a strong apprehension that the client might be arrested.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted interim pre-arrest bail to Semaibya Tahir until the next hearing and issued notices to the FIA for submission of a response.

The Islamabad High Court adjourned further proceedings of the case until June 17.
