American Journalist Praises PM Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for Peace Efforts

Islamabad (Kudrat Daily) — Prominent American journalist Nicholas Kristof has praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for their diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and regional stability.

Kristof, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, shared a social media post of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and commended Pakistan’s role as a mediator in ongoing regional tensions. He noted that the United States, Israel, and Iran had all made mistakes during the conflict and missed key opportunities for resolution.

He further stated that Pakistan’s mediation efforts were highly commendable, highlighting its consistent and serious engagement in facilitating dialogue between parties with divergent positions.

The American journalist also praised both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their constructive role in peace efforts.

Kristof specifically referenced a post by the Prime Minister in which Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan was closer than ever to a peace agreement between Iran and the United States, with expectations that the deal could be finalized within 24 hours.

The Prime Minister also said that Pakistan was preparing for the electronic signing of the peace agreement and that technical-level talks would be held next week.

He expressed gratitude for the continued support of the United States, Iran, and friendly regional countries, adding that the historic agreement would provide a strong foundation for lasting peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.
