Another Mpox Case Confirmed in Karachi, Total Tally Reaches Nine

Islamabad: Another case of Mpox has been reported in Karachi, health authorities confirmed on Friday.

According to hospital administration officials, a 40-year-old resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar tested positive for Mpox through a PCR test. The patient has been admitted to the isolation ward at NIPA Hospital for treatment and monitoring.

Hospital authorities stated that the patient has no recent travel history, raising concerns about possible local transmission.

Officials further revealed that seven Mpox cases have been reported at NIPA Hospital so far. With the latest infection, the total number of confirmed Mpox cases reported in Karachi has risen to nine.

Health authorities are continuing surveillance and monitoring efforts to prevent the further spread of the virus.
