Petrol Price Likely to Increase by Rs8 Per Litre; New Rates Expected From Midnight

ISLAMABAD: Petroleum product prices are once again expected to rise in Pakistan, with the price of petrol likely to increase by up to Rs8 per litre.

According to sources, the revised petroleum prices are expected to come into effect from midnight tonight (12:00 a.m.), although an official notification from the government is still awaited.

If the proposed increase is approved, petrol will be sold at the new rate across the country, and all petrol pumps will be required to implement the revised price immediately.

The final announcement regarding the new petroleum prices will be made by the Ministry of Finance after reviewing the recommendations submitted by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and obtaining the Prime Minister’s approval.

The anticipated increase comes amid fluctuations in international oil prices and ongoing adjustments in the country’s petroleum pricing mechanism. However, consumers will have to wait for the official notification to know the exact revised rates.
