Cyber Advisory Issued for iPhone Users to Prevent Potential Security Threats

ISLAMABAD: A nationwide cyber alert has been issued for Apple iPhone users, urging them to adopt precautionary measures to protect their devices and personal data from potential cyber threats.
According to the National Cyber Emergency Response Team, the advisory aims to enhance user awareness and safeguard devices against possible cyberattacks. Users have been strongly advised to keep their phones updated and avoid using outdated versions of iOS, as older software may contain security vulnerabilities.
The advisory also warns users against opening suspicious or unknown links while browsing the internet. Installing unverified or low-quality VPN applications has been discouraged, as such apps may compromise user data.
Authorities highlighted that connecting to unverified or open public Wi-Fi networks poses a significant security risk. Users are urged to avoid such networks or use them with extreme caution.
Additionally, users have been advised not to ignore security alerts related to their Apple ID or other accounts and to take immediate action if any suspicious activity is detected.
As a simple yet effective precaution, the cyber team recommended regularly restarting devices, noting that this can help eliminate certain types of temporary malware.
