Fake News Creating Gap Between Government and Youth: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Mandokhail

Quetta (Kudrat News): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that misuse of media and the spread of negative content on social media are increasing the gap between the government and the youth.

He stated that negative and destructive aspects are often highlighted on social media, while propaganda and rumors are strengthening mistrust and suspicion. According to him, fake news and false statements can only be countered through accurate and verified information.

He made these remarks while speaking to around 30 media activists from different districts of Balochistan during a training session on media literacy and digital rights held at the Governor House Quetta under the auspices of “Individual Land.”

The Governor said that digital information technology has made access to information easier, and today every mobile phone acts as a newsroom; however, this convenience also brings great responsibility for users. He stressed that media literacy training is essential in order to help people distinguish between fake and authentic news.

He added that fake news, fabricated stories, and unverified images can spread fear and unrest within minutes in society, therefore young people should act as fact-checkers and share only verified and authentic information.

Governor Mandokhail further said that digital rights include citizens’ privacy, freedom, and online security. He emphasized that future community leaders must protect these rights while also promoting positive values among the younger generation.

At the end of the session, he extended good wishes to the organizers and participants of the training program.
