Unannounced Load Shedding is Injustice and Discrimination Against Public: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

Quetta (Kudrat Daily) — The provincial secretariat of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has stated that unannounced electricity load shedding is nothing less than injustice and discrimination against the public, and it is the responsibility of the higher authorities of QESCO and the government to take immediate notice.
In its statement, the party said that unannounced and prolonged power outages in districts including Sibi, Quetta, Pishin, Ziarat, Harnai, Duki, Musakhel, Loralai, Zhob, Sherani, Killa Saifullah, Killa Abdullah, Chaman, and other areas have made life miserable for the public.
It added that electricity fluctuations and outages continue day and night across all affected areas, causing severe mental stress and hardship for millions of consumers. Domestic life, business activities, students’ education, and daily routines are being badly affected, while authorities appear unable to control the situation.
According to the statement, prolonged and unannounced load shedding has become routine in many areas. Faulty transformers are not being repaired in time, and old transformers are not being replaced. It further alleged that unnecessary disruptions are being created in the power distribution system, while citizens are being made to suffer due to inefficiency and failure in revenue recovery.
The party also claimed that complaint helpline numbers are inactive, and no responsible officials are available in offices to address public grievances, forcing citizens to face severe difficulties.
It further stated that while certain VIP areas are being exempted, millions of residents in Quetta are suffering from continuous load shedding, which is a clear form of discrimination. Despite paying heavy electricity bills, people are deprived of basic facilities.
The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party demanded that the government and QESCO immediately take notice of unannounced load shedding, resolve technical faults and faulty transformers on an emergency basis, activate the complaint system, and take action against responsible officials to provide relief to the public.
