Maryam Nafees Reacts to Violence Against Women, Calls for Tougher Measures Against Rapists

Karachi:Pakistani actress Maryam Nafees has spoken out about the recent incidents of violence against women in Pakistan, expressing her anger and frustration through a social media post.
The actress shared an Instagram Story featuring a post that suggested experimental testing should be conducted on convicted rapists instead of animals. The post stated, “Instead of performing different tests on animals, they should be carried out on rapists.”
The shared post further added, “Then let’s see what they have to say or whether they would agree to it.”
Maryam Nafees’ Story quickly gained attention and was reposted by several social media pages, prompting widespread discussion among users.
Many social media users supported the actress’s stance. One user commented that convicted rapists should be used for medical research, while others described the suggestion as a strong and thought-provoking idea.
Another user argued that the same treatment should be considered for acid attackers as well. Meanwhile, a female social media user remarked that while the idea may be appealing, the bigger challenge in Pakistan is ensuring that rapists are arrested, prosecuted, and punished in the first place.
The discussion reflects growing public concern over crimes against women and the demand for stricter accountability and justice for offenders.
