Acid Attack on Female Doctor in Quetta Condemnable, Government Cannot Escape Responsibility: Hafiz Hamdullah

Sanjavi: Senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and former senator Hafiz Hamdullah has strongly condemned the acid attack on Dr. Mah Noor Nasir in Quetta, describing it as a horrific, shameful, and inhumane crime.
Addressing the annual Dastar-e-Fazilat Conference at Madrasa Arabia Ali Al-Murtaza in Sanjavi, District Ziarat, he said the tragic incident had shocked and saddened the entire society. He stated that although the suspect was arrested within an hour of the attack, the government could not absolve itself of responsibility for investigating the motives and circumstances behind the crime.
Hafiz Hamdullah emphasized that ensuring the safety, dignity, and protection of all citizens, especially women, is a fundamental responsibility of the state. He prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of Dr. Mah Noor Nasir and stressed that justice must be provided to the victim and her family.
Speaking on the role of religious seminaries, he said that madrassas are important centers for Islamic education, moral training, and the promotion of national awareness. He noted that religious institutions have historically played a vital role in serving Islam and strengthening the ideological foundations of Pakistan.
He further stated that elements engaged in negative propaganda against religious seminaries would not succeed in their objectives, as religious scholars and institutions would continue to provide intellectual, moral, and spiritual guidance to society.
