Pakistan and US Enjoy Strong Ties in Counterterrorism and Multiple Sectors: PM Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad (Kudrat News) — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended congratulations to the government and people of the United States on its Independence Day, stating that Pakistan and the United States share strong relations in counterterrorism, trade, investment, education, energy, and several other sectors.
Addressing a ceremony marking the 250th Independence Day of the United States, the Prime Minister said that the eight-decade-long partnership between Pakistan and the US is built on mutual trust and cooperation.
Speaking at an event hosted by the US Embassy, Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Donald Trump, the US administration, and the American people on the country’s 250th anniversary of independence. He described American history as a unique story of hope, determination, and progress.
The Prime Minister said that under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is moving forward on a path of peace, development, and prosperity.
He noted that the United States was among the first countries to recognize Pakistan after its independence and played an important role in supporting the country’s development through initiatives such as the Green Revolution, the construction of the Tarbela Dam, infrastructure projects, and educational development.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that thousands of Pakistanis have graduated from American universities and are now serving the nation in various fields. He added that one of the strongest links between the two countries is the community of approximately one million Pakistani-Americans, while around 80 major American companies are currently operating in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan is among the countries with a large freelance workforce and noted that Pakistani-origin doctors are serving with distinction in leading American hospitals, contributing to the welfare of humanity.
Referring to cooperation between the two countries, he said Pakistan and the United States have worked together at important moments throughout history.
Praising President Donald Trump’s role in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, Shehbaz Sharif said his efforts for peace in South Asia would be remembered and that he would be recognized as a “champion of peace.”
He also stated that Pakistan is playing the role of a sincere mediator between the United States and Iran and expressed gratitude to both countries for their confidence in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to Natalie Baker for her diplomatic efforts, saying her active engagement has helped bring the two countries closer together and further strengthen bilateral relations.
