Iran Says Communication with U.S. Not Cut Off, Confirms Ongoing Exchanges and Diplomatic Contacts

Tehran:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that communication between Iran and the United States has not been severed, and that both sides are currently reviewing exchanged texts and proposals.

In an interview with a Lebanese television channel, Araghchi said that Iranian forces are carrying out defensive operations against locations allegedly used by the United States. He warned that Iran would respond swiftly and decisively to any hostile action.

The Iranian foreign minister further cautioned that if Israel launches an attack on Beirut, Iran would deliver a strong and decisive response.

Araghchi also revealed that he has recently held telephone conversations with foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, France, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt as part of ongoing diplomatic outreach.

According to the Iranian embassy in Japan, Araghchi also held a phone call with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, as regional diplomatic contacts continue amid heightened tensions.
