China Rejects US Sanctions on Five Oil Refineries Linked to Iranian Trade

Beijing:** China has rejected sanctions imposed by the United States Department of the Treasury on five Chinese oil refineries over alleged purchases of Iranian oil.

According to Ministry of Commerce of China, the sanctions violate international law and norms governing global relations. The ministry stated that China will not implement the US decision against its companies.

Chinese authorities have also instructed the affected refineries not to comply with the restrictions, reaffirming their stance against what they describe as unilateral measures.

The US Treasury had accused the refineries of buying billions of dollars worth of oil from Iran, leading to the imposition of sanctions as part of broader efforts to curb Tehran’s oil exports.
