Wasim Akram, Misbah-ul-Haq and Fakhar-e-Alam Did Not Shave Heads After Hajj, Here’s Why

ISLAMABAD: Former cricketers Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq, along with TV personality Fakhar-e-Alam, recently performed Hajj together.
After completing the pilgrimage, the trio did not shave their heads, which led to curiosity among fans and social media users. Fakhar-e-Alam later explained the reason in a video statement.
He said that before performing Hajj, they consulted several religious scholars regarding the practice of shaving the head (Halq). They were informed that pilgrims have two options: either to shave their heads completely or to shorten their hair.
He added that while shaving the head is considered more virtuous, trimming the hair is also permissible and fulfills the religious requirement.
Fakhar-e-Alam further clarified that they opted for trimming instead of complete shaving after receiving scholarly guidance.
The video statement was shared to address public questions and clarify misconceptions regarding the ritual.
