Domestic Worker Dies During Alleged Abortion Procedure; Gang Rape and Murder Case Registered

LAHORE: A domestic worker in Lahore’s Model Town area has died during an alleged abortion procedure following claims that she was a victim of gang rape, police said.

According to authorities, the victim recorded a video statement before her death, in which she stated that she discovered she was pregnant in November 2025 and subsequently informed her parents about the pregnancy.

Police officials said a case of alleged gang rape has been registered based on the victim’s written and video statements. Following her death, murder charges have also been added to the case.

Investigators stated that the victim’s father initially refused to allow a post-mortem examination. However, the autopsy was conducted as part of the legal investigation.

Police added that further inquiries will be expanded after the post-mortem report is received, which is expected to help determine the exact circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
