No Forward Bloc in KP; Any Such Move Will Face Strong Action: Shafi Jan

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has said that there is no possibility of a forward bloc in the province, adding that any such attempt would be strongly dealt with.

While speaking on Geo News programme Naya Pakistan, Shafi Jan said that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi enjoys complete support of all MPAs and was nominated by PTI founder Imran Khan.

He claimed that none of the 27 MPAs could be named as dissenting members, adding that anyone who speaks against Imran Khan’s line would end their political career, citing examples of former leaders Mahmood Khan and Pervez Khattak.

The minister said that all MPAs stand with the Chief Minister and internal parliamentary meetings are underway. He dismissed speculation about differences within the party, saying that all such rumours would prove baseless.

He further said that any attempt to form a forward bloc would be openly confronted, and warned that strict action would be taken against such elements.

Shafi Jan added that every elected representative of PTI has received votes in the name of Imran Khan, and no one has a personal vote bank. He challenged dissenting voices to contest elections independently, claiming they would not even secure 200 votes.

He reiterated that there is no forward bloc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and all members are united under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
