Progress in Naqeebullah Murder Case; Further Hearing Adjourned After New Development

Karachi: A new development has emerged in the Naqeebullah murder case involving former SSP Malir Rao Anwar, as the victim’s son has submitted an affidavit in court.
According to details, the Sindh High Court was hearing appeals against the acquittal of the accused in the Naqeebullah murder case when the latest update was presented. The court has now adjourned further proceedings until after the summer vacation.
During the hearing, Naqeebullah Mehsud’s son, Aatif, submitted an affidavit stating that he was a minor at the time of the incident and that his mother did not appear in court due to social customs. He further stated that after the death of his grandfather, his uncle filed the appeals on behalf of the family.
The lawyers representing former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and other accused had previously objected to the filing of appeals by the victim’s brother.
Earlier, a special anti-terrorism court had acquitted former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and other co-accused in the case. Following the acquittal, appeals were filed in the Sindh High Court challenging the decision.
