Pakistan Announce ODI Squad for Australia Series; Mohammad Rizwan Dropped

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan national cricket team have announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Australia national cricket team, with several senior players returning to the side while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been left out.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the national side in the ODI series, while Salman Ali Agha has been named vice-captain.
Senior players Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem have returned to the squad for the series.
In Rizwan’s absence, selectors have included Mohammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir as wicketkeeper-batters.
Meanwhile, Usman Khan was not considered for selection due to illness, while injured openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub will continue their rehabilitation programs.
The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia will be played from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
