Alleged Financial Fraud Involving Current and Former National Cricketers Comes to Light

Lahore: An alleged financial fraud involving current and former Pakistan national team cricketers has come to light, sources revealed on Wednesday.
According to sources, the affected cricketers have not formally lodged a complaint with any platform so far. Reports suggest that the players also did not approach the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to seek resolution of the issue.
As per a private TV channel, several cricketers invested money with a businessman after being influenced by a former national team captain. The list of affected individuals includes both former and current captains, while some cricketers reportedly invested directly with the businessman.
The cricketers allegedly handed over millions of rupees after being lured by promises of double profits. Initially, they continued to receive returns, but later the businessman disappeared. Sources said the alleged fraudster is currently residing in the United States and had close ties with several Pakistani cricketers.
The players claim that the businessman’s phone is now switched off, making it impossible to contact him. While the cricketers are seeking the return of their principal amounts, communication with the alleged fraudster has broken down.
Sources further disclosed that the cricketers made efforts in recent weeks to recover their money, and some of them managed to receive partial repayments. A well-known cricket agent is also among those who reportedly suffered financial losses in the alleged fraud.
