Safe Environment for International Investors in Balochistan Essential: PM Shehbaz Sharif

Quetta (Qudrat Daily): Prime Minister شہباز شریف has stressed the importance of providing a secure environment in Balochistan for local and international investors, particularly in the minerals sector, during a National Action Plan meeting held in Quetta in 2026.
The provincial Apex Committee meeting, chaired by the prime minister, reviewed the overall security situation in Balochistan, development projects, governance reforms, digitization, and the promotion of a cashless economy.
During the meeting, the prime minister directed authorities to deploy Frontier Corps personnel in the Rakhshan Division to establish a special security corridor for the protection of mineral resources. The proposed corridor will include additional FC wings, security checkpoints on highways, surveillance grids, and modern border monitoring systems.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is rich in natural resources, especially minerals, and ensuring peace and stability in Balochistan is crucial for maintaining investor confidence.
The premier also praised Balochistan Chief Minister میر سرفراز بگٹی and his team for their performance and appreciated efforts to maintain merit and transparency in district administration.
Officials briefing the meeting said several initiatives are underway for the youth of Balochistan, including skills development programs, educational projects, digital training, scholarships, and employment opportunities.
The meeting was informed that healthcare projects such as cancer institutes, dialysis centers, and trauma centers have been made operational in the province. Authorities also claimed that no new polio case has been reported in Balochistan since November 2024, while 99 percent of schools in the province are currently functional.
Officials further stated that solar energy projects have benefited more than 15,000 households and resulted in savings worth billions of rupees.
The meeting was attended by سید عاصم منیر, federal ministers, senior officials, and representatives of relevant institutions, who reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism completely.
