Grand Alliance Announces Nationwide Protest Over Inflation, Political Prisoners and Governance Issues

Islamabad (KNN): The leadership of the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan held a high-level leadership meeting under the chairmanship of Chairman and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly محمود خان اچکزئی.

The meeting was attended by Leader of the Opposition in the Senate علامہ راجہ ناصر عباس, PTI senior leader and party secretary general اسد قیصر, Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Sindh United Party chief Zain Shah, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, BNP leader Sajad Tareen, Sunni Ittehad Council acting chairman Sahibzada Hassan Raza, Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Moin Qureshi, National Assembly Chief Whip Malik Amir Dogar, Haliem Adil Sheikh, Ali Waraich, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Ammar Ali Jan, Jahangir Rind, and Akhunzada Hussain, among others.

Senior lawyer and politician چوہدری اعتزاز احسن also attended the meeting.

The participants reviewed the overall political and economic situation of the country, expressing serious concern over inflation, unemployment, and governance challenges. They said the government has completely failed in ensuring law and order and economic stability.

They noted that the country is currently experiencing up to 18 hours of load-shedding, while farmers and laborers are facing severe hardships.

The meeting stated that the upcoming budget will be prepared under IMF conditions, which would further increase the financial burden on the public.

Participants strongly condemned alleged unconstitutional and unlawful treatment of opposition parties and expressed concern over the health of political prisoners, including عمران خان. They demanded his immediate transfer to hospital and access for family and political associates.

The forum also called for the immediate release of all political prisoners, including Ali Wazir and others.

The meeting expressed sorrow over the killing of Ahmedzai in North Waziristan.

It was decided that a nationwide protest will be held on Friday against inflation, rising fuel prices, alleged lawlessness, and the detention of political leaders. Protests will be staged at all district headquarters across the country.

The alliance reaffirmed its commitment to continue its struggle for the supremacy of the constitution, democracy, and public rights.
