Mishi Khan Criticises Fahad Mustafa’s Outfit During Interview, Sparks Debate Online

KARACHI: Pakistani actress Mishi Khan has criticized actor Fahad Mustafa over his choice of outfit during a recent interview, triggering a fresh debate on social media about double standards regarding clothing.
Fahad Mustafa, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming Eid-ul-Adha film alongside actress Mehwish Hayat, recently appeared in an interview where he stated that he wears clothes of his own choice and does not care about public criticism.
However, his appearance in shorts during the interview drew mixed reactions online, with some social media users questioning whether public figures should dress more formally on public platforms.
Reacting to the controversy, Mishi Khan shared a video message on Instagram in which she questioned what she described as society’s double standards regarding men’s and women’s clothing.
She argued that women often face criticism even while wearing fully covered outfits, whereas men’s dressing choices are usually treated as normal without similar scrutiny. Mishi Khan remarked that if women’s attire can become a topic of debate, then the same standards should apply equally to men.
Without directly naming her, she also appeared to reference actress Dananeer Mobeen while discussing how women frequently face criticism regardless of their clothing choices.
The issue sparked divided opinions online. Some users supported Mishi Khan’s stance and said celebrities should be careful about their appearance during interviews and public events, while others defended Fahad Mustafa’s right to wear whatever he chooses.
Several fans also argued that personal clothing choices should remain an individual matter and not become the subject of public judgment.
